This report describes a design procedure for estimating wave slamming loads on members of offshore structures. The main chapters outline the underlying mathematical theory, and Appendix B contains draft guidance notes prepared for the Department of Energy. This appendix also contains several worked examples, showing how the method can be used in practice.

The techniques described in this report are fairly complicated, but, in Appendix B, efforts have been made to present the results in a form suitable for use by the design engineer.
