In order to provide reference performance data, open water tests have been carried out on a drive thruster of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). Results, obtained over a range of propeller blade pitch angles and for positive and negative advance coefficients, are presented and discussed. The performance of the thruster is compared with that of other marine screw propellers and the effect on performance of seaweed guards at duct entry and exit is discussed.
